A very successful evening held in the Club House mostly arranged by Derek and Lin Holt. Our sincere thanks to them.
There are now some photos of the presentations on the Gallery page of this  website . Presentations of Cup and Plate for  the
Mike Gubbins Trophies were made by Fay Gubbins and Mike Isham. I can say with confidence that we all had a good time.
Although the weather throughout the week was not very kind this new competition was successfully completed by the Thursday.
Our thanks go to Fay Gubbins and Mike Isham for their efforts in overseeing this event. It was good to see a high 'turn out' of
members and I believe most enjoyed the event even though the weather was at times inclement. First name on the Cup will be
that of John Faithful who beat Brian Johnson in a close match. The Plate goes to Barry Tovey who beat Cyril Hilton
Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to the losers. (Hopefully we may have a few photos to follow)
A very well attended meeting by Club members to an excellent demonstration given by Derek Healy - an ex-paramedic. The whole talk
took just over the hour and Club members were encouraged to take part in the demonstration. I think we all learnt a lot. Strong emphasis
was placed on the importance of CPR, this being an essential part of the process when using the defib equipment. I think we all now know
the difference between a 'pink' and a 'blue' heart and that we are attempting to keep the patient with a pink heart during the process and
until the paramedics arrive. From my own personal viewpoint I feel more confident in using the equipment and understand what
I should do if the occassion arrives when I have to put my knowledge into practice. It should be stressed that the defib equipment WILL
NOT LET YOU MAKE A MISTAKE in its operation. Just follow the spoken instructions from the equipment.
Our thanks to Derek Healy for this excellent demonstration.
